A price chart is a visual representation of a trading instruments price movement over a set period of time.
There are three (3) main chart types. Line chart, Bar chart and Japanese Candlestick chart.
Line chart: a line chart will display a continuously moving line that represents the closing price of the selected financial instruments closing price for the selected time frame (TF).
Take note: a line chart will only show you the closing price for the selected time period and will not provide you with any other information as to what happened to the price during that time. A line chart helps to visualize the current trend which is the angle of the line.
Bar chart: a bar chart is going to provide you with more information such as: the opening price, closing price, as well as the high and the low that the price of the selected financial instrument reached during the selected time frame period. Learn to read the bar chart.
Japanese Candlestick chart: a Japanese candlestick chart is going to provide you with more information such as: the opening price, closing price, as well as the high and the low that the price of the selected financial instrument reached during the selected time frame period.
