A Line price chart is displayed as a simple line that connects the trading instruments closing prices. This chart type is good to get a more global view of the price movement and identify trends.
It is easy to follow, however keep in mind that alot of important information is missing on a line chart. All we see are the closing prices, what we don't see is how the price behaved within the period.
Take note: there are many different trading strategies and approaches. Some traders believe that the Closing price of an instrument is more important than the Opening, High and Low price. Consider this when choosing your trading strategy and chart type.
A Japanese Candlestick chart type and Bar chart type shows you the Opening and Closing price as well as the high and the low that the price reached during within a time period.
